Why Cats Are Better Than Dogs

Cats are creatures that are so cute, they are loving animals. Cat lovers treat their pets like a baby or a child. They provide their pet’s needs. According to a study, 15% more people own cats than dogs. Here’s the reason why cats are better; cats do not depend on the owner, they have a longer life expectancy and they are more superior than dogs. Cats are really better than dogs.

Cat lovers love how independent they are. They can love and survive this world on their own. They can provide their own food and a shelter to live in. They require less input from the owner. Cats can even bathe themselves and dogs can’t. Dogs depend on people for a sense of protection and safety; cats can handle themselves very well. Although cats are known to be independent, they do need enough attention and love from the owner.

Cats have a longer life expectancy. According to ‘the nest’; the average lifespan of a cat has increased dramatically in the past 20 years as veterinary care has become more sophisticated. The average life expectancy for a cat is 12 to 15 years. According to the Guinness Book of World Records; the oldest cat on record died at the age of "38 years and 3 days”. The life expectancy of the dogs only depend on its size because a larger dog's heart has to work much harder to support the its organs than of a little dog, for example; The great Dane's life expectancy is only about eight years while Poodle, on the other hand, can live up to 15 years. The disease of the dogs like in dental disease, Diabetes Mellitus, and etc. tend to rising faster than in cats, according to a study.

They are more superior pets than dogs. Cats cost less to maintain in terms of grooming and medical needs. Dogs are one a half times more expensive than the average cost for a cat. Cats do not require as much upkeep as dogs do. According to Webvet; The ASPCA studied the average costs of pet ownership and here's how the numbers shook out:
Small dog: $1,314 the first year, $580 per year after,
Medium dog: $1,580 the first year, $695 per year after,
Large dog: $1,843 the first year, $875 per year after
Cat: $1,035 the first year, $670 per year after
The annual costs include food, regular medical expenses, toys, treats, litter, poop bags and miscellaneous spending. If the numbers seem high, you're going to cringe when you hear that they're only the minimum. The ASPCA noted, “You shouldn’t expect to pay less than this, and you should definitely be prepared to pay more.

Therefore, cats have less upkeep. They are known to be independent. Cats have a longer live expectancy than dogs. Cats are better than dogs. They require less work unlike dogs. Both cats and dogs are good companions, every one of us has their own opinion but for me, cats are the best.
